About Matera

Matera is an independent jewelry studio founded by Antonin and Yuxi.

The studio grew from a shared interest in materials and the way objects become part of everyday life. While traveling through China, we were drawn to local artists and makers whose work reflected a quiet respect for process. Their approach left a lasting impression and continues to influence our own.

Each necklace is assembled by hand using natural materials selected for their texture, character, and balance. We work in small quantities and take time with each piece, allowing the making process to remain personal rather than automated.

Our backgrounds in industrial design shape the way we approach jewelry. We pay close attention to proportion, weight, and the relationship between materials. Every decision is considered, from the way a necklace rests when worn to the way it feels when held.

We are interested in creating pieces that feel familiar from the beginning and continue to age naturally with use. Rather than following seasonal trends, we focus on forms and materials that remain relevant beyond a single moment.
